Rough start to Saturday

Starting around 4:00 PM yesterday David has been anxious, frustrated, angry, and appears to be uncomfortable. As I write this he is asking over and over again "What is today's Odyssey?" No matter how we respond he just asks the question over again. He is unable to respond to any question you ask him. If you asked him, "David do you like liver and mushrooms?", which he hates, He said, "Yes." We are in need of an infusion of patience. Please pray for us and the aids today as we work with David that we would be gentle, patient, and would know how to bring comfort to him. Pray that David would be content. Ask the Father of compassion and comfort to touch David today.

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, 4who comforts us in all our troubles...

  1. You trials with David's disease have been a help in undestanding the nature of God's will, the notion that His ways are not our ways. I'm sure it was part of the make-up of my theology which has been reinforced, not destroyed, by my own diagnosis of chronic disease. I don't think anyone dies before their time. I think we are all given a Deathday as simply as a Birthday by God, and he leaves us here as long as he needs to for His purpose to be accomplished. Thank you for this blog.

  3. Just look at this picture! A picture of pure contentment and happiness. God has filled him with joy to shine through the illness. I look at David and see God's hand.

I see your love for him, how you take care of him with such love and devotion with the strength God can only give you and Brenda.
I look at David and am reminded how important it is to love our family and friends and tell them that you love them , say it today because you may not have tomorrow. How wonderful it feels when you know someone loves you, wonderful to know how much God loves us!

Life is about loving one another beyond what we think we are capable of.
Praying for you all and thanks so much for writing your thoughts down for all of us to read. We are blessed to have your family in our lives.
